CoreNet Global Australia Chapter is inviting the next generation of transformational talent to participate in building the Future Workplace at their first Hackathon which will be held on September 4-5, 2017. Whether you’re an engineer, graphic designer, entrepreneur, marketer, student, or from any other discipline, this event is for those interested in being a part of shaping the future workplace – whether for a landlord, service provider, or end user.  Solve problems around: Productivity Efficiency Safety A Hackathon is an internationally used and recognised term for a competition where people come together and make a tangible product or solution using technology over a compressed time period. As part of the annual Corenet Symposium, we will be holding the first Hackathon in conjunction with BGIS, Qube Global Software, Schneider Electric, Serraview, Academy Xi, Blue Chilli, Fisher Australia, .TECH Domains and Hackathons Australia. How it works: participate in the Hackathon and be one of three final projects to pitch in front of hundreds of people at Corenet's Annual Symposium. Prior to BlueChilli, Johanna was the Deputy CEO for the Committee for Sydney, an independent think-tank advocating for global best practice in city-making. Johanna brings a deep understanding of urban issues and economic development, through senior roles in Federal and State agencies, and the UK Government's overseas trade network. Johanna is passionate about connecting the right players to create smart cities that are productive, inclusive and liveable for all. Saxon is a Real Time Inventive 3D Artist.  Moderated by Nav, a writer and editor, and performance poet based in Sydney. Currently working with Thrive at the LMA, Nav is the founder of the Quest entrepreneurial mentorship program and QuestLab incubator for refugees and new migrants looking to make inroads in Sydney's social start-up and innovation sector. Ethan, Devin, and Pulkit are high school kids from Palo Alto who think they’ve got a new breakthrough technology, and Shaher drives an Uber in New York to fund his company back home in Palestine, where his partner Ahmed keeps the coding going while supporting his family. Bettirose and team Report Taka traveled all the way from Nairobi, Kenya with an app they hope can save lives back home. Dreams will become uncertain and partnerships will be tested. Q and A Panel with last year's AngelHack winning team (Lustr) who also got to experience the journey with the teams in the movie afterwards.  Gold coin donation on entry.  NO food and drink will be provided.             Girl Geek Sydney and Hackathons Australia are teaming up for a joint meetup at Fishburners from 6:30pm on Tuesday 28th March, 2017.  We'll be hearing from Liz Kaelin, CEO of Caitre'd (Formerly YouChews) who has previously appeared on Shark Tank on her transformation from hackathon idea to Australian startup.
